The Beginning - St. Petersburg

09/09/09 at 6.55 is when the plane left London - this is us in the morning waiting to check in...let the big adventure begin!











3 hour stopover in Stockholm and refuelling with the most expensive BBQ burger in the world - it was super nice though :)


After a delay due to technical fault with the plane we finally landed in St. Petersburg around 6pm local time. Tired and eager to chill we opted for a cab at the airport. Stupid! Should have read what it said in the guide as we paid way too much - well, there we go, our first rip off :)

New day - first adventures...taking the boat is the easy way to see lots and the main bits in a short period of time. St. Petersburg has amazing architechture which is well worth seeing in more detail!











We also started our urbaneering activities - smurfs around town:

Papa smurf was on the look-out for his fellow smurfs

He found a camel in St. Petersburg


and someone looking suspiciously like Stalin....

Meanwhile somewhere else around town smurfette was taking her own notes on the city and blissfully unaware of the impending danger she was getting herself into...
