Wan Chai post to High West, Aberdeen & Stanley

Hong Kong 03/01/10

For the last three days we have been hiking on the island. We started all three urban walks from the old post-office in Wan Chai but ended up in very different parts of the island every time.

Wan Chai to High West
(3.5hrs / 450 high-meters): We figured out a way to walk from the old post-office all the way to The Peak via Bowen Road and Old Peak Road. We then walked along the Peak Circle Walk to where the steps go up to High West and this time we had really great 360degree views

Wan Chai to Stanley
(3hrs): walking up the hill from the old post-office, past Lover's Rock and a rather horrible section of Wan Chai gap road to Wong Nai Chung reservoir after which it is a level walk along the catch-water all the way to the Stanly Gap section of the Wilson Trail

Wan Chai to Aberdeen (2.5hrs): straight up from the post-office to the Police Museum and then down the other side to Aberdeen
