We were delighted to book our first trip away from Hong Kong as it meant that we were to attend Phil and Tara's wedding on Ko Lanta in Thailand. Phil and Tara have spent five years on Ko Lanta managing a diving and underwater photography business, lucky things! It was fitting that the wedding took place just across the road from their home on one of Ko Lanta's many beautiful beaches. The wedding ceremony and reception party, complete with live band and fire twirlers, were held at Narima resort and on their beach, its safe to say a great time was had by all! Well done to Tom for his excellently executed best man duties and of course congratulations to Phil and Tara for their big day!

yed in a cool little bungalow at Coral Beach set back from the sandy beach. It was all of a 30 second stroll to reach the hammocks and bamboo huts that sat in the shade of coconut trees on the edge of the beach. Astrid made full use of the islands star masseuse who's 'office' was one of the aforementioned bamboo huts. Not a bad spot!After the wedding we had 6 days to fully relax and we soon settled into a life of relaxing on the beach in the morning with a couple of refreshing dips in the crystal clear sea, a chilled afternoon in the shade as temperature heated up followed by an awesome sunset. Some delicious Thai food for dinner and a spot socialising with Tom, Phil, Tara and some of the other wedding guests that remained on the island helped add up up to a very enjoyable break. We managed to explore the island by scooter one afternoon, but soon found ourselves back on the beach and in the sea. A boat visit to Ko Haa allowed us to snorkel and spot some wonderful tropical fish and coral. The week flew past and too soon it was time to head back to Hong Kong....
